.....Volunteers for the Spring Clean-up on the Greenbrier River Trail are often met with increbible weather for the annual ritual.
Warm weather brings a host of early wildflowers into bloom.
This particular year the trail below Beard was fairly clean, but the banks and islands being hard to reach were tackled by a couple canoe crews. Your intrepid web master showed up
with his makeshift rickshaw and helped carry shuttled debris up the banks to pickup points
for the park personnel.
Paper, plastic, bottles, cans, tires and all manner of artifacts were loaded into canoes and ferried across to the trail side and dragged up the river banks for collection by State Park trucks.

Utilizing canoes, these folks cleaned up islands and the banks along the Greenbrier River Trail below Beard and into northern Greenbrier County. Seen here posing with your intrepid web master's makeshift mountain rickshaw.

Warm temperatures and a few good April showers should provide for a riot of color in the coming months. The frogs and birds can be heard and we noticed several patches of young trees with beaver sign along the river.

We wish to thank everyone who helps keep the trail looking good all year long.
